What to Include in Your Video

When submitting a video, please do not exceed 7 minutes.

To help us consider your story, please include the following in your video. You can speak naturally, but try to cover each point:

• Your name
• What you do for a living (or did)
• Why you were prescribed benzodiazepines
• How long you were on the medication
• How you came off (taper, cold turkey, etc.)
• Your withdrawal symptoms
• How long it took to feel functional again after your last dose
• What your life looks like today

Submissions that include these details are much more likely to be selected.

Increased Mortality Risk

"A cohort study found that initiating benzodiazepine treatment was associated with a 4% to 9% increase in mortality risk over follow-up periods of 12 to 48 months. This suggests that benzodiazepine use may contribute to higher mortality rates beyond overdose incidents."
